clearly embossed...

Hello all my creatively crafty friends! Ready for some Saturday inspiration?
Today I have a fun recycling project... but first...
We have put a couple polls up in our sidebar, and we need your votes!!! Your votes will help us to know how best to meet your crafting needs. =)

ok... back to the regular scheduled inspirations

You will need:
Plastic (I like to recycle the flat parts of clam shells from packaging)
Embossing folder
Die cut machine (the kind you can run embossing folders through)
Alcohol ink
Creative Inspirations paint
Q-tip
Fantastix

Let's get started!
Step 1: put your plastic in your embossing folder and run it through your die cut machine.
I'm using Provo Craft's "Polka Dots" embossing folder.

Step 2: apply alcohol ink to the top side of your plastic (the raised side)

Step 3: flip your plastic over

Step 4: using a fantastix, apply paint to the de-bossed parts of the design. You can fill them all in, or use a random pattern as I have here.

It will look something like this...
*sorry about the bad picture... it is hard to photograph...*

Step 5: when the paint is dry, you can use a dry q-tip to clean up any paint that has gotten where you don't want it.

The extra pops of random color and shimmer really make this fun. =)
This sample is Adirondack "Lettuce" alcohol ink and "Chocolate" CI paint.

This is the same technique using "Purple Twilight" alcohol ink and "Winter Frost" CI paint in every dot.... This has a much subtler look that is also very effective.

Now for my project... I used "Sunset Orange" alcohol ink with "Onyx" CI paint for a fun dash of Halloween.
Paper: Coredinations, white cardstock, clamshell plastic,
Ink: Adirondack Alcohol ink, Staz-on, Archival, Mark-it, Distress
Stamps: Great Impressions "Hehehe", Clear Art Stamps "Halloween Fun"
Creative Inspirations Paint: Onyx, Evergreen
Other: Provo Craft "Polka Dots", ribbon, Tim Holtz Fragments, jumpring

You can change the look of the finished project by changing the color combos and embossed designs... There are endless possibilities and so many fun ways to use it! Have fun creating!!!
And don't forget to vote on our polls!
