from basic to fab...

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I want to share a quick for those who either already make use of hybrid crafting, and those who think they may want to get their feet wet...

Hybrid crafting is a way to get the best of both the traditional and digital crafting worlds. I admit, I have been a die-hard traditionalist. I love the textures and the layers, and getting my hands messy. (my hands are often died with some sort of ink and splotches of paint. lol)  Lately I have been dipping my toes in the digital waters... I'm not giving up my traditional crafting, but I admit, I have fallen in love with digi papers. I can print up as many sheets as I need, without having to store them, I can resize the papers, and once printed, they can be used in any way I use my store boughten papers.

By this point you are probably wondering where my tip is coming in... Well, a great way to save money while still getting the look of expensive store bought paper is to print your own paper, then add some Creative Inspirations paint over parts of the pattern. It quickly takes your paper from basic to fantastic! Of course you can dress up ANY patterned paper by adding CI paint to parts of the design. It's lots of fun!

Enjoy!

Shimmery Pink Ornament

It's never too early to think about Christmas cards, right? LOL Here is a bright and fun card for someone who loves pink.

I pulled out some stamps from Flourishes and some fun papers from My Mind's Eye (12 Days of Christmas), and I just had a blast playing around. I used some Fuchsia and Antique Silver paints from Creative Inspirations Paint to color in the ornament. You can see the beautiful shimmer in this picture below:

CI Paints Inspired By: White + 1 Other

Thanks to all those who joined in last week and shared their creations with "Charms"!

Just a reminder that this is the last challenge of the month!  Next week we will be drawing a winner from all the September entries for your chance to win some paints of your own!  How cool is that?!?!

---------------------------------------------

Each week you will be given a challenge to find inspiration in/from what ever the challenge theme is... you can be as literal or abstract in your inspiration as you want....Just make sure you can tie it back to the theme! Challenge closes at 4:00pm Eastern on Saturday.

You will always be able to jump back to the current challenge by clicking the "Current Challenge" link in our sidebar. The rules can always be found by clicking the tab "Challenge Rules" at the top of the page.

You do not need to use the Creative Inspirations Paints in your project, however, if you do, tell us which colors you used, and your name will go in the drawing twice! Each month, one person will win 5 jars of paint in the colors of their choice. The winner will be randomly drawn from all the people who have played that month, so make sure to join in on our challenges each week!

---------------------------------------------

This week's challenge is:

Inspired By: White + One Other Color

Here's a card for some inspiration:

My main extra color is black!  The colors you use to color in your image don't count.

I used CI Paint "Fairy Dust" to add shimmer to her wedding dress!
Have a great week!
