Glittery Ornaments

Wow, 3 Monday's in July this month, so that means another post from me, Kendra!

I decided today to focus on Creative Inspirations Resplendence Glitters!!

I have been hooked on creating my own Christmas ornaments!  As I love decorating for the Holidays!

They are so easy and fun to make!

1. Gather Your Supplies:
Pledge With Future Shine (Blue Cap)
Creative Inspirations Resplendence Glitters
Clear Ornaments (Got mine from Hobby Lobby)
Paper Towels
Vinyl and Cricut(optional)

2. Remove top and add Pledge to the inside.
3. Use finger to hold paper toweling on the opening.
4. Shake!
5. After shaking for a few seconds, pour excess back into the bottle.

6. Carefully pour glitter in the inside.
7. Cover again with paper towel and shake!
Just look at the beautiful shimmery glitter!! LOVE!
For this one I used Resplendence Regal Red!

Aren't they beautiful!!!??!!!
Creative Inspirations also carries Resplendence Glitters in Burgundy and Angel Dust!
So get started on those Holiday ornaments!

A fun option, which I didn't do with the two above, is to personalize them with a name!

Using your Cricut or other Die Cutting machine you can cut a vinyl name and adhere it to the ornament!

Here's a picture of me adding the name "Alaina" to another one I created.
These make wonderful gifts!

As I mentioned before they are also fun to create with the kids!

We made a set two years ago and each Christmas each of us hang ours on the tree!

As shown above, they are also perfect without a name!

Have a glittery day!

bling on the paste...

Hello all my wonderfully artsy friends!

If you have been around here long, you may have noticed that I LOVE texture and dimension in my projects. I was actually working on a project yesterday that I really felt was missing something... When I looked at it today, I realized it was completely flat. No texture, no dimension. No wonder I felt it was missing something! LOL!

A wonderful medium for adding texture and dimension to a project without becoming bulky is modeling paste (also known as texture paste). This fabulous paste is found in the fine art supply section of stores.  It is white, making it ideal to paint, or tinting it before you apply. Now, what is even better than adding texture, dimension, and color all in one to your project? How about throwing in a little bling at the same time!

What you need:
Modeling paste
Small jar with lid
Creative Inspirations Paint
Stirring stick (toothpick works!)
Stencil *optional*
Palette knife *optional*

Step 1: put desired amount of modeling paste into a container with a lid.... yet another time to reuse empty CI paint jars! yay!

Step 2: mix in desired color(s) of Creative Inspirations Paint. The more paint you add, the more intense the color.

Step 3: if you are using a stencil, place it on your project where you want it.

Step 4: apply your colored paste to your project. I like using a palette knife, but for different texture, try  using a paint brush, paper towel, or your fingers...

Step 5: allow to dry. If you let it dry naturally, it will stay how it is... if you want more texture, dry it with a heat gun. The heat will make it bubble... I love watching it. =)

The thing that amazes me is that even though the paste is opaque, you still see the fabulous shimmer of the CI paint we mixed in! How awesome is that!

this is a fun way to add some color and sparkle to your texture. I love it!

Enjoy!

Shiny bird cage - Kianel

Hello dear Creative Inspirations lovers,
Kianel here with you today to show you a bird cage i made using the marvellous CI paints to get it all shiny. Sorry but not close up pictures as the weather is absolutely horrible here in france and the pictures just wouldn't show the shimmery of the project but it shimmers...
The pearl on the top of the cage and the flowers at the base have been colored with "tutu pink".
Little birds from Magnolia with "rose quartz" and "amethyst". Big flower on the side with "fairy dust". And bees stamps also from Magnolia (can see them on the background) are painted with "sky blue" CI paint.
The bird cage has been made using Cheery Lynn designs dies and painted with "sage" CI paint.
I also created spots on the cage using "ivory" CI paint with a touch of glossy accent to give it volume.
That's all for me right now so don't forget to join our weekly challenge each sunday for a chance to win some wonderful CI products!
Love from France, Kianel.

(her mother, not so much ;)

The flower parts before painting and assembling:

Celebrate

Hello sweet crafting friends.  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a digi from Sassy Cheryl's Digis.

This sweet little girl is Sassy Sally's Butterfly.  Don't you just love that cute expression on her face?  I colored the image with copics and colored pencils.  I wanted to add some sparkle to the butterfly in the image and the one on the tag, so I added some Resplendence Angel Dust Glitter.  This glitter is beautiful!  This glitter comes in other colors too and you can find all of them here.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Hugs, Anita

Painting Flowers

Hello everyone. Big Happy Monday to all those out there reading this.

Well it is Shanna here to share with you a fun springy summer card. I have been dying to use this stamp since I got it and I finally decided to use it with all the rainstorms we have been getting here in Vegas. (Yes it rains in Vegas - sometimes lol!)

For my card I am using a stamp from Great Impressions Stamps.

Here is a picture of the whole card. I used some MME papers, and a scalloped rectangle with some blue inking.

Flowery huh!!!

Here is a shot of the flowers I painted and stacked up. I had to do a few layers  to get a really good bold color and the shine is just amazing and the colors go so well with the paper.

I used the inks

Don forget we have a new challenge this week so come play with us.

Our adventure can be shiny with CI Paints

Hello, my dear crafty friends! Irit is here again and this time with another scrapbooking page.
On this page I wanted to share my painting over some home silver doilies - with a touch of Turquoise CI paint I just changed it to this blue (as a sea around) color.
I also used Deliquensce Fine Clear embossing powder over colored inks on the stamps (compass and letters) and over inked title I used some White embossing powder colored with some Buttercup paint (it works!)
And the products used here:

This page was published in Scrapbooking News and Review April/May 2012 issue
See you next month with more colorful  projects!

'Mother' Layout

This is a special photograph of John's Mother, Georgina.  Georgina is an amazing lady at the age of 81, and her life story is just so amazing - I could sit and listen to it over and over.  You see, she is alive today due to escaping Berlin, and then skiing out of Austria many years ago.  In her group of friends that attempted this, very few survived.

So I created a layout for Georgina, using Creative Inspirations Paints to illuminate the beautiful papers and embellishments.  Sadly, the roses no matter how hard I tried, would not show their true colours - they are not 'that' dark in reality.
There is a lot of Creative Inspirations Paints within this layout. The lace, has been painted with 'Gold', just lightly brushed over to add a shimmer and age it a little. Chipboard elements have been painted using Copper, the edges of each butterfly (including the background paper) have been edged in Gold - just a touch around very edges.
The flowers have all been coloured or highlighted using a variety of colours - they look amazing in real and I am sure if you click on and enlarge the photographs, you can see more detail of that beautiful shimmer that Creative Inpsirations Paints produces.
The Prima Vine was a real lolly pink colour, after a wash of Raw Sienna, Copper and a touch of Gold - voila new flowers.  Also, the leaves were coloured too, ridding of the original brightness.  So, don't be afraid of re-vamping items in your stash you are no longer keen on!  Creative Inspirations Paints can cover as much of the previous colour as you wish - a light swish of the brush for subtle tones, or several layers to completely cover.  The best part, the paint dries quickly...
 Thanks for dropping by...
Sandie
