Texture and Time

Texture, texture and more texture... that is what I am going to share with you today! This texture was covered with various mists, acrylic paints, stamps, ink and of course, plenty of Creative Inspirations Paints!

When I started this canvas, I really was just playing with varying textures on the wood piece in the center. Over time, more and more layers were added, and I realized it would look cute on a larger canvas with a nice quote on it. The canvas was painted and layered in a similar fashion using mostly the same products. I ended up using a quote on time mainly because there were so many clocks and gears on the piece. :)

Here are some close up shots...

The majority of the CI Paints I used were around the quote, on the embossed portions of the piece, as well as on the sides of the center board.

Below are the colors used on my canvas....

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!!

YT Girl Tag

Hi CIP fans and followers!  I was going through my images and came across this YouTube Girl from Whimsie Doodles!  I thought it would fun to do a tag for a change, and used plenty of the shimmery paints from the Creative Inspirations Paint store.  The paint colors used are: Aqua Marine (the background), Sky Blue, Copper, Beige, and Fairy Dust.   The seam binding is done using the Sapphire Creative Inspiration Paint.
Here is a closer look at the CIP products that I've used:

Mixed Media - Bugs and Butterflies

Hi CIP fans and followers!  I've been busy with a little challenge with a friend, so I thought I'd share some of that today.  Some are not so easy to see with a glare, and the lesson I learned was not to seal the pieces before taking a photo!  For a clearer look, please feel free to check out the video on my YT channel: HERE.  I've used a ton of shimmery paints from the Creative Inspirations Paint store, and you can probably tell that we were working on bugs and butterflies.  The colors used through the seven pieces combined are: Winter Frost, Fairy Dust, Buttercup, Sunshine, Evergreen, Emerald, Onyx, Tickled Pink, Burnt Sienna, Sky Blue, and Aqua Marine.  I've also used some Angel Dust to add a glittered layer to one piece.

A Teacher Takes a Hand - Mixed Media Piece

Hello, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Emily here today with a mixed media canvas I made using Creative Inspirations Paint.

My daughter, Serenity, asked me about a month ago to create a canvas for her teacher. I had made one last year for her Kindergarten teacher, and she wanted one this year for her first grade teacher. Of course I said I would make one, and knew that these paints would be perfect on it!

I first took a canvas and used my modeling paste mixed with some acrylic paint to make the chevron pattern using a stencil. After the paste had dried, I used some CI Paint in Aqua Marine between the pattern and along the sides of the canvas. I stamped the butterflies on some tissue paper and used decoupage to adhere them to the canvas in the two corners. I colored them in with Buttercup paint, and colored the hearts in with Rustic Red.

See my apple? It is another of my tin foil, book covered creations. I painted it with more Rustic Red and added some stamping and acrylic paint for more texture. I painted a chipboard heart with Garnet paint and covered it with Deliquesce embossing powder in Clear. After it had dried, acrylic paint was added along the edges and it was traced with a sketch marker. Before I added the apple, I used some white acrylic paint on the edges of the canvas to sort of frame it. The white was also added to the apple as well to help tie it in with the piece as a whole.

Check out the close ups of the piece below...

And as always, here is a collage of the Creative Inspirations Paint products used in today's mixed media project.

I hope you have a wonderful and creative week. Have fun and get messy!!

Fly Free!

Good morning and Happy Friday my paint loving friends! Emily here to share another mixed media piece I made using some Creative Inspirations Paints.

I often will get an idea in my head for a project out of the blue, and have to go to my studio to get some of it down on canvas, paper, or whatever I am working on. If anything, I try to get out the papers, paints and embellishments I want to use for the project. This normally happens, which is nice. Other times, I will start the project, in particular, a background, without having any idea of what I will put over the background. My piece today was one of these... I completely finished the background part, with stamps and all, but didn't have a clue as to what I would put on it for the finishing touch.

It sat for almost a week... until today. I happened to look at a bird stamp I had, and the idea hit me. A large dimensional bird covered in acrylic and Creative Inspirations Paint with some grungeboard letters spelling out my words.

This is what I ended up with. . .
s

Not only does the bird have CI Paints, but its legs, the canvas background and the letters have CI Paints products on them.  The letters were first painted with Coal paint and then I decided to add Delequesce in Black over it and heat it with my heat gun for a shiny textured look.

See the heart in my bird's wing? If you have me figured out, then you know I almost always have a heart in my project. I normally have them out in the open, but this one needed to be a little hidden... somewhat!

Below is a collage of close ups ... look at the shimmer and sparkle!

And as always, here is the palette of colors I used from Creative Inspirations Paint:

Thank you for stopping by today! Enjoy your weekend and get creative!!!

CIP - Puppy Love Valentine

Hi there CIP friends!  I'm busy working on my Valentine cards and practicing with the Creative Inspirations Paint embossing powders.  I have to say that I stopped using embossing powders years ago because I couldn't get them to melt nicely, but the Deliquesce powders melt perfectly in seconds!  It really helps with keeping the colors from spreading with the distress coloring.  How great is that?

I pulled out some of my older stamps to get use out of.  So I've used the Deliquesce Black on the stamped image, and then used the Garnet, Aqua Marine, and Winter Frost on the flowers.
Here are the CIP products that I've used:

Home Sweet Home

Happy Saturday friends! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Emily here today with a quick share of a mini canvas I made using some wonderful Creative Inspirations Paint

I made this adorable canvas last night using remnants of a Studio Calico kit, some 3 Girl Jam crinkle ribbon, stamps, tissue paper and loads of CIP paints

These are the colors used in the canvas today...

Below are more close ups and angles....

See the tissue paper on the canvas? I used a similar technique to the recent tutorial by Kassi using tissue paper that you can find in the tutorials section HERE. Instead of using a sheet of tissue paper, I tore pieces of it off and layered them on top of one another to create clouds. This is a really fun technique to use on your projects for added texture.

Thank you so much for stopping in on this Saturday! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Sew Creative Imperfection

Hello, my dear crafting friends! Irit is here again and this time with this altered chipboard spool made in my usual  vintage style.
Lots of  Creative Inspirations paints were used here: over the chipboard buttons, over the stamped hat, all around the glued tissue paper.  I mostly used Aquamarine and Chocolate, but then added some more blues and browns for the highlights.I also used Copper embossing powder over the plastic scissors to made them look a bit more vintage and  used Fine clear embossing powder with my stamped hat and dress form : it makes it easy to hand cut after the stamping. The background  stamped script was also embossed with the same Copper powder all over the spool.

This project was  web published in SNR July 2012 issue and now I can post it here too.

See you nest time with more painted inspiration!

Art Journaling with Creative Inspirations Paint

Today I've created a page in my art journal using my Creative Inspirations Paints for the background. Let me just tell you, this page has some layers!

I painted the background with Creative Inspirations Paints in Evergreen, Aqua Marine, Royal Blue and Tanzanite. I stamped vintage typography with the Unity stamp - SheArt Print Texture. Next, I randomly brushed on some Sakura Crystal Lacquer and sprinkled Gold mica powders over it.

I stamped an embossed a heart from the January SMAK kit . I spritzed the entire page with Ranger Mists and then went back to stamping. I used the numbers background from the December SMAK kit. You can barely see these, but I love how they just add a little more depth to the page. I painted more of the Creative Inspirations Paints onto the Painted Punchinella stamp and randomly stamped that in open areas. I added a sentiment from the Donna + Unity = FABric Creations set. I let some Crystal Lacquer drip down my page, and I added more of the Gold mica powders. I then spritzed it again to help blend the whole page together.

Blue Christmas card - Kianel

Kianel here with you today for a card i made for the christmas issue of Magnolia Ink and that i wanted to share with you. I used a lot of Creative Inspirations paints on that project to make it shimmer. The card is a booklet card that opens.
Stamps, papers, leaves and border dies coming from Magnolia, heart die coming from Cheery Lynn designs. You can see Creative Ibnspirations paints on the flowers "fairy dust" and "sky blue".
On the stamped image i used "winter frost" "sky blue" and a touch of "garnet".
This is the inside of the card where i used "tan" and "buttercup" for the light, "aqua marine" "garnet" and "emerald" on Tilda's stamp. Papers, stamps and border, tags and leaves dies are from Magnolia. Flower border and all flower dies are from Cheery Lynn designs.
Here is a close up of the colouring on big Tilda.
And this one shows little tilda using "gold" for the light, "sky blue" and "winter frost" for the clothes.

Well i also wanted to show you another project i made this week. Did you know that your Creative Inspirations paints work outstanding on embossing. Okay, i'd better say debossing because this is the side i chose to use.
I used an embossing plate from Cheery Lynn designs which i coloured with Creative Inspirations paints "sage" "emerald" "rose quartz" "rustic red" "buttercup" "mango".

Don't forget about our weekly challenge that you can find every sunday for a chance to win some great Creative Inspirations products. Love from snowy France, Kianel.
