"Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies..."

Hello Creative Inspirations Paint fans! Since the 4th of July is coming up and here on the blog Diana has the awesome Inspired By Challenge: Red, White and Blue going on, I thought I would do a little Red White and Blue project of my own. 

Really, in this case it was take an old project and make it better. Last year did this mixed media piece using lyrics from "America, the Beautiful" and a fabric US Flag I made using acrylic paints and a piece of muslim. There was also some stamps, stickers and various patterned papers incorporated in the piece. I loved how it turned out, but never felt as though it was complete. I recently realized what I could do to finish the piece off. 

Using some patterned paper I covered a wooden heart I had and then used Rustic Red and Denium around the edges of the papers and on the side of the heart. I took chipboard stars and used Deliquesce Fine White to cover them and adhered them to the heart. I took four additional chipboard stars, embossed them and added them to the corners of the canvas. The USA on the heart was made using some letter alphas which I embossed with Deliquesce Super Sparkle Red. It has a great sparkle!! 

A close up of the added decorative heart. To give the stars on the entire piece more sparkle, I added Fairy Dust paint to each of the stars. To the four stars on the canvas, I also added a bit of Denium paint to the edges of each to help them blend into the original canvas. It helped pull the heart together with the canvas.

For the burgundy letters I was going for the ombre look

 I used  Creative Inspiration  Fairy dust paint for the word MOTHER'S, the background letters of DAY
 and the scroll at the bottom.
For the word DAY I used creative inspirations Canary

Wow can you believe how fast this month is flying by....before we know it, Easter will be here!
Anyways~

This week's challenge is:

a fan favorite I know so I hope to see LOTS of projects being linked up!!!

Of course I have some inspiration but before I share my project I want to thank Molly, Kendra and all the very talented CI Paint DT for a GREAT year! I have decided to step down as the challenge coordinator after sharing my projects with you all for the past year. I have truly enjoyed every minute on this talented team working with these amazing paints but it is time to move on so I am turning the reins over to Diana~ you all know her from DL Art . I know she will do such an awesome job continuing these challenges!
So I leave you with my last piece of inspiration~

A cute Easter card using one of my favorite characters~ Riley the Moose.

Here he is up close~

I embossed him using black ink and Deliquesce Clear Embossing Powder.
After coloring him in using my copics I added some Resplendence Angel Dust glitter to the eggs and the chick :)
I added some silver brads to hold my banner pieces up but wanted to add some color so I painted them using Mint, Tanzanite and Sunshine paint.

I love the look of Kraft and White and wanted to use that combo to make a tag.

I used Deliquesce White embossing powder for the label and sentiment. LOVE that look!!

For my card I used Creative Inspirations Paint in Tutu and Fairy Dust to add some sparkle and shimmer to the hearts as well as the hearts on my cute giraffe.

The sentiment was stamped with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs and heat embossed with a mix of Deliquesce Clear embossing powder and Resplendence Angel Dust glitter (a FAV combo of mine....it gives the sparkle of the glitter with the look of the heat embossing)

This is what I came up with...

I used all CI Paint embossing powder for this card....

Deliquesce Clear for the tag and for the heart

and Deliquesce Gold Crystal for the "u"

Here is a close-up of the embossing that I did....
WOW CI Paint has the BEST embossing powder...so very easy to use and the color that the Gold Crystal gives is something my picture just does not do it justice!!

With the new year days away I thought for today's inspiration I would make a 
festive New Years card
but before I share my card, on behalf of myself and the entire Creative Inspirations Paint DT we want to wish you all a VERY Happy New Year!

Now for my project!

I love the fun colors of this card...the black white and gold and when I think of the New Year...the first thing that comes to mind is the countdown....3...2...1~ Happy New Year!

 

Most of my card was done with heat embossing and my favorite
embossing powder~ Deliquesce Black and Deliquesce White
I also added some Deliquesce Gold Crystal as well...LOVE how this added such sparkle and texture 
to my calendar
For the arrows on the clock they were originally white and black but to make them stand out alittle more I painted them with Gold CIP...

I made some reindeer food to give to my nephew who is 2. I know he will get a kick out of this...
plus he can save the bag and fill it again for next year!

I used the stamps from The Alley Way Stamp and some memento tuxedo black ink on my canvas bag from StateLine Bags Co.

Then went to town painting the cute reindeer with 

Creative Inspirations Paint in

Chocolate, Rustic Red, Evergreen and Antique Gold

I can not tell you all enough how awesome this paint goes on these bags and you can kind of see the beautiful shimmer it leaves!!

Birthday, Christmas...anything as long as it is a TAG

I made a Christmas tag to use for one of the many Teacher's gifts I will be making this year.

Using Creative Inspirations Paint in Evergreen for the holly leaves and Creative Inspirations Paint Resplendence Burgundy Glitter

Here's some inspiration:
A sweet dimensional apple for my hubby :)

I am sure you know by now how much I LOVE CI Paints embossing powders...

My project uses the Deliquesce Clear embossing powder for the sentiment.

I stamped my image using Versamark and Distress Ink then cover it all in the clear embossing powder...

Heat it up and the results are awesome!

I also used CI Paint in Sage to paint the leaf..

Adds just that little extra shimmer I was looking for!!
