Challenge card - Kianel.

Hello,
Kianel here with you today sharing the card i made for the 1st anniversary over at TOMIC challenge blog, using many Creative Inspirations products.
Stamp and papers are from Magnolia, dies are from Magnolia and Cheery Lynn designs.

I used Jeweled Inspirations clear SS20 to decorate my die cut. I also painted all the die cuts with Creative Inspirations paints "fairy dust" and "winter frost".
On the big roses, i used the glitter "angel dust" from Creative Inspirations.
All the leaves are covered with "green olive" paint.
"Fairy dust" is used on the butterfly die from Cheery Lynn.

For the colouring i used my favourite mixture of distress ink + "olive green" "emerald" "tuttu pink" "rose quartz" and "fairy dust".
Hope you like it and don't forget to come and play with us on our weekly challenge for a chance to win some yummy goodies! Love from France, Kianel.

Sparkly Hello

Hello!  I've got a clean-and-simple card to show you today, using shimmer paints and glitter from Creative Inspirations Paints.

It all began with my star punch and a box of cereal.  One day in May, I just sat and punched out as many stars as I could from the box's chipboard.  I got quite a few!

In order for the Creative Inspirations paints to show up best, I wiped each star first with a white craft ink pad.

Next, I used Turquoise and Evergreen paints on the stars.  The paint dries so quickly, which I love (keeps my crafting train going full steam ahead!).

I painted on Aleene's Tacky Craft Glue, then sprinkled Resplendence Angel Dust glitter, also available from Creative Inspirations.  This glitter is super fine, and SUPER iridescent and sparkly.  Bee-autiful.

A sentiment from Hero Arts and a scattering of rhinestones fit just perfectly among the sparkly stars.

As for the card bottom, I used Tumbled Glass ink and the Houndstooth background stamp from Market Street Stamps along the bottom of the card base.  A bit of lace and Wild Wasabi ribbon from my scraps add interest.

Thank you SO much for joining me!  Enjoy your day!

For You

Hello crafty friends.  Today I'm sharing a card using an image from the DigiStamp Boutique.

This sweet image is from the Rosie Collection 1.  I colored it with copics and colored pencils and then applied Creative Inspirations Paints to the balloons and package bows to give them some shimmer.  I used Sunshine, Mellow Yellow, Turquoise, and Sky Blue on the balloons.  On the bows, I used Turquoise, Sky Blue, Royal Purple, and Light Purple.  Then I went over all of these areas with Fairy Dust to really add some sparkle!

We have a challenge going on and you can find all the details in this post.  You can find all the Creative Inspirations Paints here.  Thank you so much for stopping by.

Hugs, Anita

A cup of Cheer

Happy Happy Monday. I hope everyone is having a great start off to the week. I hope everyone had an excellent weekend. I found out what I am having and I am so excited.

So to send off some happiness I am sending everyone a cup of cheer!

I used the stamps from The Great Impressions,  Flowing Teapot and A Cup of Cheer.   I used an older pad from Authentique that seemed kind of perfect for a tea theme. I stamped the sentiment in a pink water based ink to go with the rest the card and then picked a flower out of my stash.

I used my Tim Holtz tiny attacher to attach some lace to the side of the card just to add a touch of tea time. I also used Creative Inspirations Paint Pink Highlights to add sparkle to parts of the cups and teapots as well as other parts of the image.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you stop by tomorrow to see something new.

butterfly kisses...

Hello my fabulous friends!

My mom and I were talking the other day about the chickens she wants to raise.  My dad doesn't seem to be too excited about the idea, so we started joking about getting peacocks so I could use the feathers in my art....  any one know where we could get some albino peacocks? LOL!

With feathers on my mind I set out to work on my tutorial for this week...

(I suggest grabbing a lint roller for this.... feather fluff gets ALL over!)

What you need:
Scratch Paper
Dark Marker
Feathers
Glitter Glue (I use Stickles)
Creative Inspirations Paint
Mini Mist Bottle
Small Bead
Non-stick Craft Sheet
Red Liner Tape

Ready, set, grab your lint roller, and let's go!

Step 1: choose 4 feathers with nice smooth tops and cut off the fluffy bottom part.

Step 2: Draw your wing shape on your scratch paper with a dark marker. (make sure to size it to fit on your feather tops!)

Step 3: Place your feather over your template, and use glitter glue to outline the shape on the feather.

Step 4: Set it aside to dry for several hours. Don't rush it!!!

Step 5: Once dry, trim off the extra fluff.

Step 6: Mix some Creative Inspirations Paint with water in a mini mist bottle. (I used Pink Highlights, so the color isn't showing up well, but it is there!)

*I know I did a mist tutorial way back when I started first started posting CI tutorials, but I want to update it.
Have you ever notice the nail polish bottle that have a little mixing ball in them?  Well, there is a good reason for that. When you have a thick medium (paint/shimmer) you are trying to mix with a thin medium (water) a mixing ball really helps! So, throw a small roundish bead in your mister with your paint. It really helps!

Step 7: Using your freshly made shimmer mist, spray your wings. The glitter glue will help them keep their shape even when wet.

Set them aside to dry. It shouldn't take too long this time.

Step 8: Peel off the paper lining to a piece of red liner tape. Stick it onto a non-stick craft sheet. (I cut up a worn out craft sheet to work on so it is easy to set aside to dry.)
Step 9: Peel off the red liner, an arrange your sparkly wings on the tape.

Step 10: Add a thick line of glitter glue down the middle to help hold the wings and form the body. Don't worry if the glue goes past your tape, it should hold it's shape just fine.
*you can also add designs to the wings using glitter glue or CI paint*

Step 11: Again, set it aside to dry for several hours.

Step 12: Once dry, you can very carefully peel it off your non-stick craft sheet. The tape will still be sticky on the back making it simple to attach to your project.

Yes, there is a lot of drying time with this technique. However, you can make up a whole batch of butterflies (or dragonflies) at a time and store them on an old sticker backing sheet. You could also make a bunch white ones and wait to spray them with the desired CI color until you are ready to use them...

The sparkles, feathers, and dimension add such a great touch to cards and LO!

Enjoy!

The Good Life with good paints

Hello, my dear crafting friends!
Irit is here again, and this time with my album cover, full of shiny CIP colors and embossing powders.
I made this cover using Wabr2scrap huge chipboard covered with Robin's Nest glitter cardsock. But then all bare chipboard parts screamed for some Creative Inspirations Paint colors. So I painted both crown shapes with  Bright Yellow, Sunshine Yellow,  Garnet Red and Burnt Clay  paints and added some Resplendence Angel Dust glitter over them. The swirls were also painted with Olive  Green and  Sage green  paints and finally I heat embossed the painted title with Deliquesce Fine Clear embossing powders.
Lot of shiny paint was added over this piece and I really like the result and hope  you like it too.
See you in two weeks with another CIP  project- this time a scrapbooking painted page.

Angel Card

The beautiful stamp set 'Lace, Take One Step' (JS342) was painted using Creative Inspiration Paints in Amethyst, and Plum.  The angel wings were covered using Helmar's Acid Free Adhesive, then sprinkled with Resplendence Angel Dust. The Angel Dust is amazing, such glorious shimmer!  I was going to add some of the Angel Dust across the flowers, but wanted the 'wings' to really stand out.

The roses/flowers were painted with Silver Frost just on the edges, and the bottom petals, and the foliage too.  No matter what the colour the Silver Frost is painted over, it gives a glorious shimmer, and I adore the way the flowers shine.

Resplendence Angel Dust upon angel wings

I added tiny glass lilac seed beads to the lace using Gemstone Glue. In the right light, they shine, especially with the beautiful Amethyst and Plum CIP's - I will be definitely be playing around with more beads in the near future.
Supplies:
Creative Inspiration Paints: Silver Frost, Amethyst, Plum and Resplendence Angel Dust
American Craft Cardstock
Flowers: I am Roses
Martha Stewart Punch
Helmar: Acid Free, Premium, 450 Quick Dry, and Gemstone Adhesives
Braid, Hand-Dyed Silk Ribbon & Lace

Butterflies and Beauty

This week's card started as a bit of an experiment. I used the Cheery Lynn French lattice large die and cut the design from a sheet of two sided adhesive. I adhered the die cut adhesive to the aqua cardstock and removed the top cover sheet. I covered the adhesive with CI Resplendence (glitter) angel dust. The result was a beautiful, sparkly design on the background paper. Then I stamped my image from Great Impressions on white cardstock. I painted the image with CI paints: spring green, emerald, turquoise, ivory, caramel, burnt sienna, coal, peach, and canary. I die cut the image using a Spellbinder's die (Label 23) and cut a corresponding layering panel which I highlighted with peach CI paint to add shimmer. The flower was die cut (Cheery Lynn miniature rose die) using crepe paper layers with canary CI paint highlights. The butterflies (Cheery Lynn dies) were cut using yellow and orange cardstock. I then used canary and peach CI paints for highlight and shimmer. I love how this card turned out with all the shimmer and sparkle.

Flower Clips

Flowers....Flowers....Flowers

My little girl just loves me doing her hair...as she loves when I put flowers in her hair!  Recently we had a mommy/daughter day and went shopping, one of our stops was Hobby Lobby!

She loved all the different flowers, so I thought it would be fun to create a few clips for her hair, I made one last year and hadn't had a chance to create more.  Thought it would be fun to create some more and show how easy they are to make and how awesome they look with the shimmery paints!

Well it was pretty hard telling a little determined 2 year old she only could pick a few....she kept telling me "I love these too mommy!"

This is what we ended up getting:
Plus I ended up digging in my stash and found a few others to use!

She was so excited to put them together!!

The cutie wanted to use my CI shimmer paints to make them pretty!  While I was painting the flowers she kept saying "So sparky"!!  I had to giggle to myself....too cute!

They are so simple to make:
I first painted all the flowers I wanted to use with the shimmery paints!

Then I added a little hot glue on one of them:

Quickly, smashed the two together:
I added a gem or brad on each of them.

Lastly, I ran a line of glue on the underside of the flower and quickly put the clip in the glue, but made sure to hold the clip open so that if didn't glue the clip shut.

So here are the finished flowers:
I used "Light Purple" on the bottom left flower, "Pink Highlights" on the bottom right flower and "Blush" on the polka dot pink flower!

My favorite one, as I love yellow!!
I used "Sunshine" on the flowers!  I also used SS20 and SS30 Jeweled Inspirations in the center of the flowers!

Her favorite:
I used "Tutu Pink" on the zebra print flowers and "Coal" on the black flower and SS30 clear Jeweled Inspirations in the center.

Have a great day!
