Papillon

Since this week's challenge is Inspired by Butterflies, I thought I'd share a card I just finished to send to a stamping group friend. I used a collage stamp from Club Scrap and the level up technique from Technique Junkies. I stamped the image four times-- one for the base and one for each of the layers. The first layer (stripes) was torn and painted with rustic red and adhered to the collage. For the second layer I painted the butterfly with sunshine yellow and orange. I cut it out in its entirety and attached it to the red layer and base. The final layer was the sets of wings which were also painted and adhered to the corresponding wings. The whole image was framed using the torn frame technique. Everything was adhered to a yellow base card which I had trimmed the bottom using the Postal On the Edge Die. I used Viva Decor gold paint pen to add the pearls. The whole card has a very vintage look with the spice of shimmer. I hope to see lots of butterflies this week.
