find your texture...

Well, hello again everyone!  I'm so glad you stopped by for a little inspiration!

Today I thought I would share a fun technique to get your wheels turning.  This is a great way to add some shimmery texture without adding bulk or taking much time. It is a fun way to alter anything from LOs to cards, die cuts to buttons... And it is so quick and easy!

What I'm using:
Non-stick craft sheet (to protect my table)
paper
Creative Inspirations Paint
Makeup sponge
Magic Mesh

Step 1: place mesh over paper, and press firmly to adhere

Step 2: apply CI paint using makeup sponge in a pouncing motion. The amount of paint on your sponge will affect the final look, so play around with it

Step 3: when the paint has dried, gently peel away the mesh...

...and, that's it!
You can see that it gets kind of blotchy where I used more paint, and the lines are crisp where I used less paint. I think having a mix gives it a fun distressed look.

What else can you find around your house to use as a texture mask?  What about plastic canvas?  Or paper clips?  If your 'found' items don't have adhesive on the back simply add a little temporary adhesive and have fun!
