Challenge card - Kianel.

Hello,
Kianel here with you today sharing the card i made for the 1st anniversary over at TOMIC challenge blog, using many Creative Inspirations products.
Stamp and papers are from Magnolia, dies are from Magnolia and Cheery Lynn designs.

I used Jeweled Inspirations clear SS20 to decorate my die cut. I also painted all the die cuts with Creative Inspirations paints "fairy dust" and "winter frost".
On the big roses, i used the glitter "angel dust" from Creative Inspirations.
All the leaves are covered with "green olive" paint.
"Fairy dust" is used on the butterfly die from Cheery Lynn.

For the colouring i used my favourite mixture of distress ink + "olive green" "emerald" "tuttu pink" "rose quartz" and "fairy dust".
Hope you like it and don't forget to come and play with us on our weekly challenge for a chance to win some yummy goodies! Love from France, Kianel.

Saying farewell!

This is my last post as a designer for Creative Inspirations and I have had a great time over the last six months! This a great team of talented and sweet ladies and I will miss being a part of that. I love Creative Inspirations paints, so while I may no longer be posting them here, you will still see me using them on my projects if you follow my blog or scrapbook.com gallery. A special thank you to Kassi and Molly, you are amazing leaders with large hearts. I wish you continued success for Creative Inspirations and on your next adventure!

I do want to leave you with one last project, loaded with texture and paint. Hey, that's what I'm all about right? When you use Creative Inspirations paints, don't be afraid to mix them with other color mediums. On this page, I created the background with color mists and acrylic paints. I used Chocolate (YUMMY!) CI paint on the giant star. The shimmer makes the star stand out on this project.

Thank you everyone for all the sweet comments. I hope I've inspired you to get in there and just get messy. Paint is supposed to be fun! I'll see you around!

Bright colors ahead for spring!

I often find myself turning to bright and bold color combinations in the last few winter and early spring months. I'm just READY for nice weather, fun family outings, and photo ops of course! For this page I was inspired by a color challenge on scrapbook.com. Blue, orange and green: That sounded great to me! As I worked on this I discovered I was out of orange buttons. No fair! I reached for my Pumpkin Creative Inspirations paint and fixed that problem right quick, lol! Have a look, doesn't this make you long for warm spring days?

She's got sass!

LOL! Well, it's true! My daughter is a spunky sassy girl and isn't afraid to show her "tude". I wouldn't have her any other way! This is a photo from a few years back, and her personality has actually grown even larger. Since she's all things girly and fun, I decided to use shades of purple, fuschia, and pink Creative Inspirations paints on this page. What do you think of my diva, lol!

Hemp cord flowers

Hi everyone! I have a quick tip to share today.I was making flowers out of hemp cord over the weekend. I love the natural look, but thought I might try to get a few different colors as well. I turned to Turquoise and Fresh Green Creative Inspirations paints. I think the end result is fabulous! They have funky texture, and bold color. These will definitely brighten any project!

Printing and painting on canvas tutorial

Hey everyone! I thought I would share a tutorial today. I love introducing texture to my projects, and canvas has become my go-to fabric. Would you like to turn this:

...into this?:

Brightening things up a bit..

I love the look of black and white photos. When photo editing I always find myself "test driving" each one in b&w, and many of them stay that way for printing! Large b&w prints, like 8x10, really benefit from a punch of color when scrapped. Take this fabulous photo of my daughter, I thought it needed a pop:

I used Canary, Turquoise, Fresh Green, and Mint paints on the chipboard dresses. The dresses are covered with canvas, which takes the paint very well!

A new year brings....

Resolutions of course! Most of us make some sort of pledge toward positive change at the beginning of the year. This year my resolution is to regain my happiness, health, and strength. It means I care more about how I am going to feel, than what a number on some scale says. I decided a layout might be my first step in regaining control!

I used Winter Frost paint on the chipboard flourish and journaling block..

So tell me, what are your resolutions? Are you going to scrap them?

A few Christmas projects!

This is my last post before Christmas, so I want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday! I have a few things to share today. How about a gift tag with just a hint of shimmer?

I painted the chipboard circles with Mint Creative Inspirations paint and they were the perfect base for rhinestones. A candy cane tied on with ribbon makes this tag a hit!

I also have a layout to share. We've had quite a bit of snow so far this month, much more than we normally get in December, and my children have been loving it! Here they are sledding last weekend:

The snowflakes were painted with Evergreen Creative Inspirations paint. I really like the non-traditional color on them!

Alright everyone, I'll see you NEXT year! Be safe out there!

Joy cards

Creative Inspirations Paints are just perfect for adding that extra touch of shimmer that make Christmas cards so special. I have worked the paints into several of my cards this year, but I really do think these are my favorites...

I used Mint, Gold, and Garnet paints on the chipboard ornaments.

Setting the mood ...

Hi everyone! Rebecca here with a super simple idea for warming up your holiday gatherings. Get some inexpensive glass bowls or candleholders. Paint them with a few layers of Creative Inspirations paints and then decorate them as desired when they are dry. You can use any colors you like and make several to fit any holiday theme. I used Denium and Antique Silver paints for a cozy winter theme. When these are lit, they are absolutely beautiful!

Shimmery, shabby flowers..

I love texture and canvas has become my creative ally. I find the look of glimmery Creative Inspirations paints adds delicate beauty to the rough fabric. Have a look at these flowers I made...

If you would like to try these flowers out, the tutorial can be found on my blog!

She'll put a spell on you....

My daughter wanted to be a vampiress this year for Halloween, which had me excited about doing her hair and makeup! She was invited to a birthday/Halloween party a few weekends ago so we got a chance to try out her costume early. I think she looked so cute and just a little spooky! I simply had to scrap her photo right away, and wanted to go with a "magically mysterious" theme. I came up with this layout:

I used Antique Silver, Silver Frost, and Coal Creative Inspirations paints to make the "magic" radiate from her photo.

Falling leaves.......

Fall is my favorite time of the year. What's not to love about crisp air, delicious treats made from pumpkin, and crunchy leaves underfoot? There are so many things to do during the months of September and October, and pumpkin picking ranks at the top of my families list. We went several weeks ago to a local farm, and spent about an hour in the pumpkin patch. We brought home thirteen pumpkins and I also managed to get wonderful photographs!

When I come across a photo I really love, I try to fight the urge to scrap it as an 8x10. The reason for that is large photos can be hard to scrap without the page either looking too plain, or too cluttered. The way to get around this is to embellish simply, and try to cluster them directly on your photograph. That is what I did with my favorite shot from our trip. I used Evergreen, Burgandy, Burnt Clay, Buttercup, and Raw Sienna CI paints on chipboard leaves. I just kept brushing the colors over each other, allowing them to blend, for a multi-colored appearance. Just like Mother Nature! Check it out, what do you think??
