Love You Layout

Good morning one and all! Julianne here today to share a technique-filled layout with you. This entire layout was one big experiment, as I have never played with Creative Inspiration Paints before. Being new to the team, I did not know what to expect. So I just played. It was that simple.

I decided to start with embossing powder. I'm an embossing powder addict - I love the way it resists against paints and mists. I used the Crafter's Workshop 12x12 dots stencil, added some embossing ink, sprinkled it with the Platinum embossing powder, and blasted it with a heat gun. I then sprayed a couple of different mists to add a little colour.

I have used the Gold Crystal Sparkle embossing powder for my title.
I think it may be my new favourite colour, lol! I just adore the beautiful sparkle and shimmer that shows through once it has been heated.

I decided to try the paints on metal embellishments, and was pleasantly surprised. The paints give a gorgeous colour and pearl shimmer to the metal. The flowers in this image were originally white, silver, and gold metals.

I have added drops of paint to my layout for added texture and detail, and to help tie the layout together. I have also used the Sea Foam paint directly on the chipboard corner frames (Imaginarium Designs). I used two light coats of paint, and once it was dry, I coated it with Glossy Accents for even more shine.

Here are the colours I used on my layout:

And if you look closely, you'll see I have finished of my layout with Jewelled Inspirations in all 3 sizes. No matter how hard I try, I just cannot create a layout without adding a little bling!
And since I enjoyed this experiment so much, I think I'll go and make another one.
Now, which colours should I choose???

Thanks for joining me today. Hope you get creative too!

Cheers, xxx

Sunny Days

Today is all about being sunny and bright and nothing says it better than the bright colors of CI Paints!  I altered this framed house by painting the front with  the CI Paints and I added some handmade flowers and made the cross out of resin.  The cross I found in the dirt and cleaned it up enough to get a mold of it and I used resin, paint and walla!

Closeup of the cross seem how shimmery the paint is
You can see the shine of paints on the wood as well.

Be sure to join in on the challenges here at CI Paints and remember have fun!!!

Foil Flowers

Hello!

Shea here with a fun, recycling idea.  Earth Day was April 22, and many of the challenges for the past couple of weeks have centered around recycling household objects.  I was sharpening one of my punches using 8 layers of aluminum foil, and as I was looking at the punched pieces, an idea began to form:  scallop circle = flowers!

First I embossed the shapes for texture, then colored one with alcohol markers but wasn't really happy.  (That's the flat one in the center.)  I knew Creative Inspirations Paints would be better, so I connected each set with a brad and then fluffed the layers bit by bit.  Fluffing that many foil layers is a bit tricky because each layer is so light and fragile, but the end result is rather fun, especially when you see the before and after.  After fluffing, I started painting using solids on some and blending colors on others (red and yellow)

I had a bit of misfortune when stamping the greeting.  I stamped it incorrectly the first time (crooked and too faint), but rather than put the piece in the scrap bin, I turned it around and stamped it again.

I also dry embossed the layer with a striped embossing folder, but, er, um, it doesn't show up.  Gee, I wonder why...

The red panel with yellow borders covers the stamping goof right up.  Seen from this angle, you can see the dimension of the foil flower and how the entire layered piece is popped up on the base of the card.

And here's a close up of the flower.  I love how the silvery foil contrasts with the paint colors on the various flowers, in this case blue.  I used a blue Metallic Inspiration in the center and some red ones along the yellow borders.  A little baker's twine and some Jeweled Inspirations at the top complete this card.

Thank you for joining me and I hope you'll visit the Creative Inspirations store to see all of their shimmery, glittery offerings.  And don't forget to visit the Creative Inspirations challenge blog as well - this fortnight's theme is Inspired By: Anything Goes.

Happy crafting!

CI colors used (on all flowers above):

Rustic Red, Turquoise, Canary, with some blending.

Glitz'n it Up with CI Paints/ Blessed Photo Calendar

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with a Glitzy Photo Calendar I made for Creative Inspiration Paints, using tons of paint on this beauty!!

I colored my image, metal frame, all border edges, and all distressing is done with Creative Inspiration Paints. I used Chocolate, Carmel, Beige, Blush , and Tutu Pink.

I love using Creative Inspiration paints to distress and color my card stock. I also brushed some on the white metal frame. I love the way it looks, and its super easy to use! My borders are punched with Martha Stewart punches, and then distressed with CIP's. I colored my image with the paints too, the only part that isnt is her skin tone. I used a marker for that.

My Bows and Trim are Really Reasonable Ribbon, and the buttons are random buttons I found in my stash. I also used a angel charm , and some pearls to complete my calendar. Now to work on more pages for this Photo Calendar Album

I tried to take several different photo's to show some of the glitz and shimmer. I hope you enjoyed my post today, as I enjoyed making it!!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl
