A Fun Halloween Card using some Acrylic!

Greetings, I'm Michelle!

This is my 1st post for Creative Inspirations! I'm very excited to be a part of the DT team for Creative Inspirations!

The CI paints are so vibrant and I love all of the shimmer!!

For my 1st project I decided to make a Halloween card. I used some darker paints for some Fall Colors!

I used a acrylic frame made by Harmonie.

and the paper is from Pink Paislee.

The sentiment I used by, Digital Delights.

I colored the letters in using CI Coal paint color.

Before I painted the acrylic I added a little crackle medium very lightly for a crackle effect. I wanted a more distressed and a glossy sheen background.

For the frame I used CI paint in Mocha Latte.

The stem I used Chocolate and Evergreen for the leaves.

The bats I used the Onyx.

For the pumpkins I painted the background in the color pumpkin.

The eyes and mouth I used Bright Yellow which is on the small pumpkin and the eyes on the larger pumpkin. I love this color because it made me think of a pumpkin with a candle glowing!

The mouth on the big pumpkin is Mellow Yellow.

When you use acrylic the shimmer effect is not as bold due to the material of the acrylic and depending on what you use as your base before you add the paints.

 

 

If you would like more shimmer from the paints gesso would be better to use.  I wanted a more glossy sheen background and used a Crackle medium.
