Hibiscus

Hi, Barbara here. Today I'm sharing a card I did using the level up technique. I started with an image of a Hibiscus flower. The stamp is from Auntie Amy (now under I Brake for Stamps). I stamped the image six times. The entire flower was painted with CI paints. I used rustic red, garnet, sage, green olive, raw sienna, and burnt clay. On the second stamping I painted the flowers and the  leaves, cut them out and adhered them to the first image. On the third stamping I painted the flowers and the forward leaf, cut them out and adhered the pieces to the original image. For each stamping I painted the parts to be cut out and adhered them to the image -- the flowers, then the front petals, until finally just the front petal on the large flower. In real life, the image has a dimensional look. What makes these flowers especially striking is the vivid color and the shimmer created by using CI paints.

Wow! It looks so real! You can see the texture of the flower. I love the hibiscus, and have owned several, but usually kill them because I either over-love them or forget to water them. LOL. I found your site a few days ago and became a follower. I have never seen these paints, but they sure do create a lovely effect. Hugs, dj1952 (Debra)
