Hey everyone! I'm so glad you stopped by for another day of inspiration!
Today I thought I would share yet another way to get fun texture onto your projects using stencils.
What you need:
Stencil
Modeling Paste (or Molding paste)
Temporary Adhesive (or masking tape)
Palette Knife
Creative Inspirations Paint
Paint brush
Step 1: choose your stencil (or make one using a die cut machine and card stock like I have here.)
Step 2: If using a homemade stencil, or a thin plastic stencil with a lot of detail, apply temporary adhesive to the back.
Step 3: Press the sticky stencil onto your project. If you have not used a temporary adhesive, you will want to tack down all four sides using masking tape. You don't want your stencil to shift on you while you are working.
Step 4: Using a palette knife cover the exposed areas with modeling paste.
Step 5: Scrape off all excess paste.
Step 6: Carefully remove the stencil.
Step 7: Allow to dry. You can speed the process using a heat gun, but it will cause blisteres to form in the paste. If you like this look, go for it.... if not, let it air dry for several hours.
Step 8: Once your paste is completely dry, you can start painting. The CI paints have such a vibrant color and fabulous shimmer, it really makes your design pop.
Once the paint is dry (which doesn't take long at all!), you are ready to add this beauty to you next project!
Pretty cool, huh! This is a great way to add a little dimension and really give your design that extra "wow factor".
Hope you enjoy!
