Fingerprint Hearts

Good morning!

My post for today would have gone along with Kassi's wonderful tutorial from Saturday, as I have also recently found fun in using my fingers (and my kids) for a tool to use with the paints!

It was a simple card, but yet a lot of love and thought was put into it!!

But, last minute I had to pull the card, as Paper Creations would like to have it for their Winter 2012 issue!

I don't think I will get in trouble just sharing a sneek peak, so here it is:
The kids had so much fun creating this card with me!  We used our finger prints to create hearts!!  We used CI Paint Garnet!

Have a nice day! Just a reminder that our challenge this week is Inspired By: Someone Special!  Share with us your projects as we love seeing what you create!

cracking up...

Hello all my fabulous friends!

I have recently fallen in love with one of the best painting tools I have ever found... FINGERS.  Remember way back when you were a kid and dipping your fingers in pots of color and spreading it around was considered perfectly normal?  Well,  I don't know why we grow out of it... it is a very effective way of doing things, and it's FUN!

I use my fingers most for antiquing and grunging things up...

So, who's ready to get your fingers messy?

What you need:
paper/chipboard
Crackle Accents (by Ranger)
contrasting colors of CI paint

Step 1: paint your paper or chipboard with Creative Inspirations paint using your favorite technique....

*I used Rustic Red, and Silver Frost*

Step 2: squeeze on some Crackle Accents.

Step 3: spread the Crackle Accents with your finger to cover desired area. The thicker you spread it, the larger the cracks, likewise, the thinner the spread the smaller the cracks will be.

(make sure to wash your hands while the Crackle Accents is still wet... it's a pain to get off otherwise!)

Step 4: As tempting it may be to speed the drying with a heat gun, DON'T.  Set it aside to dry naturally. When it is completely dry, you will see the surface covered with cracks. Very fun!  You can stop here, but for a more dramatic effect, grab a contrasting color (darker works better)

*I'm using Coal*

Step 5: Once again get those fingers messy and rub the CI paint into the cracks.  Your fingers really work best for this!   The CI paints clean up with a just a little water, so no worries.

Ste 6: Use a damp rag to wipe off all the extra paint that isn't in the cracks.

Isn't that fabulous???  The shimmer of the CI paints gives a fun twist to the grunge look.

Enjoy!

Guest Designer Tracy MacDonald

Happy Friday!

As I mentioned a few week's ago, we are beginning to have Guest Designers! It's so fun to see what other people are doing with CI products!

So today, I am introducing our first Guest Designer!

Tracy MacDonald

It's always nice to see her beautiful projects as she joins in most of our weekly challenges.

First, let's learn a little more about her:
How long have you been crafting? I have been crafting since I was a teenager, but only began scrapbooking and cardmaking about three years ago.

How would you describe your style? Eclectic! I am a coloring addict, but I also enjoy elements of vintage/shabby chic and Tim Holtz techniques.

What is your “must-have” paper crafting tool? An X-acto knife! I use it for everything.

What do you like about Creative Inspirations Paint? I love that CI paint have such a great shimmer and that it goes a LONG way. Just a little bit can add so much to a project. The color range is just beautiful and makes it so easy to coordinate with the color scheme of your creation. Easy clean up, easy storage too!

Favorite CI Paint Color? Right now peach with seafoam green as close runner up.

Ready for some of her beautiful work?

First, a beautiful card:
She used paint on the image, butterfly, crepe paper trim, and buttons.

Next she created a beautiful mini album for her daughter, in which she used some of the paints on the pages.

Look at the shimmer on the flowers!

Here's a link to the album if you'd like to see the other pages: Mini Album.

Check out Tracy's blog to see all her great work!

Have a nice day!

Peony Card

Hello Everyone! Carla here today. Hope your week is going well... we're halfway through the week! Today's project is a Peony card, I was feeling floral again... must be all the snow :)

To color in the blue background on the stamped image, I used Seafoam Creative Inspirations Paint. It is a very cool effect to have the shimmery "water" against the watercolored flowers... almost looks like they are floating on a pond! I used Onyx and Antique Gold to highlight the centres of the flowers.

For the background on the card base, I used a large stamp, inked with Fairy Dust to stamp a subtle sheen and add a little interest without overpowering the inage stamp. It's quite stunning in real life. Here's a close up of the details and shine!

Hope you enjoyed today's project!

Cheers,
Carla

Just Another Brick In The Wall

I have an Urban/Grungy Valentine card for you today. I've been seeing so many cool projects with brick backgrounds, and wanted to give it a try. I had the Tim Holtz brick embossing folder, so that's where I started. I painted one side of the folder with Tickled Pink paint from Creative Inspirations. I ran a piece of Echo Park paper (with text graphics) through the folder - to give a graffiti look. Next, I rubbed Pumice Stone Distess ink over the wall, to tone it down a bit and highlight the details. I used stamps from Unity to finish out my city card.

Here's a picture of the brick wall before it was added to the card, so you can see the textures.

Have a great week!

Wall art

Hello , My dear creative friends! Irit is here and this time we are going to make some Wall art, or actually just some wall patterns, using those simple and cheap office stickers together with our gorgeous Creative Inspirations Paints.
I made a few different samples of  possible walls- all ATC size and one finished ATC just show your how you can use your walls after they are done.
Product list:
Creative Inspirations paints: Chocolate, Beige, Garnet, Sunshine
Office stickers: permanent and non- permanent  ones
And now to work:
1. Painted permanent stickers wall
Add some small permanent stickers over your cardstock building a wall pattern.

Cover the whole pattern with   a lot of paint. As our stickers are the regular paper, they catch the paint faster and better (the ATC is part glossy), but still all the cardstock is paint covered.

2. Wall made with non permanent  stickers.
I used those big printable stickers, torn and added as a wall pattern. After the whole piece was painted, I just peeled those stickers for this wall look.

3.Misted wall
This time I made a bit of a homemade mist with our sunshine paint and misted the permanent stickers to  make my Yellow brick road. The black spots were made with some  black ink drops

And my final ATC project- I made the red edges with Garnet paint and stamped with Black ink over the wall

That's it for this month! See you in February with my next tutorials.

Paper bag - Kianel

Hello dear Creative Inspirations paints lovers,
Kianel here with you today with the finished project i showed you last time using the new embossing powders and glitters from Creative Inspirations paints. Those are absolutely awesome so don't loose any minute now and go there to check them out.

I made a paperbag where i used many dies and many Creative Inspirations paints products: Paint, metallic inspirations, glitters and embossing powder!
I used the Creative Inspirations Paint called "burgundy" to cover all the letters of my title.

The adorable stamp from magnolia is coloured with distress ink and all the stripes are filled with Creative Inspirations Resplendensce glitter burgundy.

The bow is made using the marvellous Super Sparkle pink Deliquesce embossing powder which is a 2 tone embossing powder with a stunning effect.

There i chose to cover the bottom of my flower with the Resplendence Angel dust glitter.
The butterfly is decorated using the beautiful Metallic Inspirations matt purple.
And on all the borders of my patterned paper i used Deliquesce white embossing powder which gives a winter note and a used style to the paper.

The stamp and the patterned paper are from Magnolia. All the dies are from Cheery Lynn designs and the other decorations are coming from a french online shop.
I hope you will like that paper bag as much as i enjoyed creating it and don't hesitate to come and join us for our weekly challenge every sunday for a chance to win some beautiful Creative Inspirations products!
Love from France, Kianel.

My Initial Idea was...

Initial Idea?
OK,Dawn here today with a Creative Inspirations Paint project today using Initials!
These two letters were in my stash from clearance purchases and always meant for my daughter.
I used

and  Resplendence Angel Dust
Have you seen all the new glitters and embossing powders? I am so addicted to this  Angel Dust.
Let me share a couple pictures.
This is how the letters came-just that plain white wood.
I painted the letters with the Plum- it looks so different in person and my pictures.
I decided to add some trim from my stash on the sides and a fluffy bow in the middle.
Here is a blurry picture(SORRY) of all the sparkle- but it shows you how sparkly this glitter really is.
