Painting on Acetate

This week I wanted to try and use the paints on acetate (transparency). Using the Noah's Ark stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, I stamped the image with Stazon on a piece of acetate cut to fit the front panel of a card. Then I flipped the acetate and used the paints to paint the back of the image. One thing to remember is that the first colors put down are the colors that show to the front. Even if it looks like the lines of the image have disappeared, don't worry, they'll show from the front. Once the image was completely painted and dried, I stamped the sentiment on the front in Stazon. Be sure to stamp or the front of the card, not the back, or the wording will be backwards. After the acetate was painted, I prepared the back panel. I used the texture duet technique, embossing the top and bottom of the panel with different folders. I tried to simulate clouds and water on my panel. I then highlighted the embossing with color. The acetate panel with the image was then attached to the embossed panel using small brads. The whole panel was adhered to the card base. Using CI paints on acetate creates a very shimmery card.
