Tag using Watercolor Crayons and CI Paints

Hi! Emily here to share a colorful tag I made using  Kassi's Watercolor Stamping Tutorial which you can find in the Tutorial section.

I actually used a couple of stamps with my watercolors and Creative Inspirations Paints to make this:
I colored the flower with some Blush paint and did the center in Buttercup. The flower is canvas, and you can see in the close up below how the fabric looks when painted. I didn't completely cover the flower, as I wanted it to have more of a splotchy look. I covered a punched out circle with some Glossy accents, let it dry, made it crack by bending it, and then colored it with my paint.

Part of the Watercolor Stamping tutorial explains how you need to wet your stamp with some CI Paints and water mixed in a mister. For that I used Sky Blue. It added just the contrast I wanted. You don't see a lot of the blue, it's more the sparkle you are going for. :)

Below are the colors I used:

I also did a layout with this tag, which I will share in a couple of weeks! These are part of a class, along with THIS CARD to show off the various techniques you can do with the CI Paints.

Have a great day!!

Holiday Games

Christmas in October? Yes, I did it. I figure, if people do Christmas in July, I can get away with some Christmas stuff in October, right? I really am excited to share my projects with you today because they use some of my favorite colors of Creative Inspirations Paints.

I made these for a class that I will be teaching in November, which is the real reason I did the Christmas thing. But the colors are some of my favorites. :)

The layout uses some Rustic Red, Garnet and Green Olive on it. If you look closely, you can see that the background is tissue paper highlighted with some of the Rustic Red on the creases and some Garnet splashed over the top. I used the Green Olive with a Crafters Workshop stencil to add more texture and shimmer.

The tag was super easy to make. I used my all time favorite Kassi Tutorial of Marbling with the CI Paints to make this. I chose Winter Frost and Silver Frost for my two CI Paint colors since they wouldn't be so prominent. I've found that although you can do the marbling technique with any of the CI Paints, the lighter colors such as Winter Frost, Autumn Wheat, Silver Frost, Ice Blue, IvoryGoldPink Highlights and Beige are my favorites to work with when marbling. If you haven't stopped by and tried out the tutorials that Kassi shares, you need to check out the Tutorial Section. There are so many things to do with these paints! I'm constantly discovering new things!

As always, the colors used today:

Have a wonderful day!! See you soon!

Inspired By: Mother's Day

Hi CIP fans!  Dana here today sharing a tag for the Mother's Day challenge theme. I am lucky enough to live close to a strawberry patch and always make fresh strawberry jam for the special mothers in my life. I found this super cute Mason Jar Stamp Set and made a jar-shaped tag for my jam.  I colored my stamped image with Creative Inspirations Paint in Garnet, Sunshine and Ice Blue.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!

Metallic Tag

Hi CIP fans! Dana here today sharing a tag featuring some of my favorite colors of Creative Inspirations Paint and Deliquesce Fine Platinum Embossing Powder.

I used Kassi's fabulous Embossed Paste technique to add the platinum squares to my tag.

I poured paint directly onto my tag for a splash of color.  I tilted the tag and let gravity move the wet paint for a natural look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Listen to your Heart... use CI Paints! ;)

Hooray, it's Friday! I'm so happy that the weekend is finally here! Today I have a tag to share with you that I created for a banner setup I put together to hold cards and tags in our house. All it consists of is a long piece of twine with miniature clothes hangers along it to display the cards and tags. I change out the cards and tags depending on the time of the year and seasons. It is really working out well and is one of our favorite spots in the house. :)

Believe it or not, there are quite a few CI Paints on this little tag. A lot of colors were used on the background of the tag which I first covered with Mod Podge and various pieces of old ledger pages. After the pieces had dried I applied Carmel, Blush, Rose Quartz Tickled Pink and some Beige paints. The girl was cut out out from a card I had received in a scrapbook kit years ago that I saved in hopes I would some day use. I finally did! I used Fairy Dust on her crown, Sea Foam and Coal on her eyes, and some Autumn Wheat on her wings. Beige and Antique copper were used on the girl's dress. After all of the paints had dried, I used a stencil and some Light Modeling paste to make the hearts which I covered in Deliquesce Super Sparkle Pink and then heat gunned. As a final step, I used my sketch pen to trace around the girl, hearts and sticker phrase.

Look at all of the sparkle and glimmer of the Deliquesce on the hearts! I love it!

You can see some more of the shimmer of the background and her dress here.

Once again, I have a collage of all of the Creative Inspirations Paint products used in my project today.

I hope you have enjoyed my tag today. I will see you soon!

A Very Special (and Shimmery) Thank You Tag

Hi, and Happy Friday! It's the end of the work week for most, and the start to the weekend... I hope you all have some fun plans! I work on Saturday, but after that, I will be doing some creating in my studio.

Today I have a tag to share that I colored with some gorgeous Creative Inspirations Paint.

I've been on a tag kick recently. They are great for adding to cards, placing in cards, attaching to gifts, or just hanging up in your home. I plan on attaching this one to a card.

The tag is a large shipping tag that I covered with some black spray mist and then covered with Coal paint. I added three coats of the Coal to ensure it was covered on both sides. I also added some water to it to thin the paint. After the Coal paint dried, I used Lavender along the edges of the tag, as well as in various spots around the tag. Lavender was also used on the Prima flower.

After the sentiment and flourish stamps dried I attached my flower and a few clear Jeweled Inspirations.

Below are some close ups of the shimmer!!

Below are the CIP colors and Jeweled Inspirations used for my tag.

Thank you for stopping by.... I'll see you Monday!!

CIP - Nutcracker Tag

Hi there CI Paint fans!  Kimberly here, and I'm back with a new project with Creative Inspirations Paint.  I've used three colors from the Creative Inspirations Paint line on my Nutcracker Tag that I've created with recycled chipboard (cereal box).  The background of the tag is covered in Sapphire, the snowflakes and Nutcracker's hair is Winter Frost, and his shoes are Evergreen.  I've also used Siam (SS20) Jeweled Inspirations for the snowflake centers and on the Nutcracker's hat.

blue tag - Kianel

Hello,
Kianel here with you today showing a tag i made using the fantastic Creative Inspirations paints!
You might have guessed that blue is my favourite color by now and this time i made my own background. For that, i covered it with distress ink "tumbled glass" and then i dropped some "sky blue" CI paint on my craft sheet and sprayed with water. I then put my tag on the craft sheet and dried it. And i did that several times until the tag is fully covered. When my tag was dry, i embossed it with a Cheery Lynn Designs embossing plate and highlighted the embossing using distress ink "faded jeans". And the result is really shimmery!!!
To paint my little Tilda from the last Magnolia collection, i mixed distress ink "tumbled glass" and "faded jeans" with CI paint "sky blue" and "Fairy dust". To make the wings, i cut a Cheery Lynn Designs butterfly doily in 2 and removed the middle, covered it with CI paint "sky blue" and distressed it with ink on the borders, and finally glued the wings behing Tilda.
I also made my own flowers (apart for the one in the center) and border using Cheery Lynn Designs new french and english doilies that i distressed with ink on the borders and then covered with Creative Inspirations paint "Fairy dust".
And voilà!
Some close ups to show you the shimmering of the details:

So that's it for me today, and i also want to remind you that here on the blog, you can find a different challenge each sunday with a chance to win some beautiful CI paints and that you will find techniques every saturday presented by dear Kassi, and don't forget that every single day one of my talented DT mates is presenting a gorgeous creation with CI paints!
Lots of love from France, Kianel.
