gloss on over...

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!

Recently, I received an email from a dear friend of mine who is really struggling... I wanted to send her a fun card to help brighten her day.  Of course I used Creative Inspirations Paint on the card, after all, what could be happier than sparkle?

I thought I would share a quick way to get some very fun shimmery paper in the color of your choosing!

what you will need:
Glossy Paper
Creative Inspirations Paint*
Craft stick, toothpick, or paintbrush
Non-stick surface
Reinker

*I like to use a fairly neutral CI paint for this like Fairy Dust, Silver Frost, Frost White, etc. than add color with reinkers, but try this with any color or colors, for different results!

Step 1: Using your craft stick (or what ever tool you fancy), smear some CI paint onto your non-stick surface.

Step 2: Add reinker to your smeared paint.  (I like to make a color spray by adding reinker to water and putting it in a spray bottle. If you just add reinker, or if you don't want to use reinker, just spray with some water)

Step 3: Lay your glossy paper over the ink splattered paint and smoosh it around... you can tap it, swirl it... what ever you want, just get that paint moving around on the slick glossy surface.

Step 4: Flip over, and allow to dry... or if you are like me, zap it with a heat gun. =)

Isn't that just fun? You can try to create different patterns by smooshing your paper in different ways, or by adding different colors.
And just look at that shimmer! The CI paints are packed with shimmer, and since the glossy paper is already shiny, it ends up being very sparkly!  I love the look of CI paint on glossy paper!

Here you can see some of the "texture" that is created... It dries fairly smooth, but it looks like it is very textured.

So here is the card that I sent to my friend... I hope she likes it.
(it says "When life STINKS you can count on me)
I used this technique for the bottom strip... I then stamped my skunk onto a leftover scrap and cut out the petals of his flower. You can see in the how shiny it is in the right light!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
